Ever Have One Of Those Days?
midlagedfangirl
You know, I'm beginning to think this was one of those days I should never have gotten out of bed! First, I didn't pay attention to the time so we got up too late to catch the bus to Mass. (Cars down right now.) Then we figured out we'd go somewhere in SLC. That was at least until I looked over and my better half's cat was WEEING RIGHT IN FRONT OF HIS PILLOW in the bed! Oh. Joy. Cat wee...how ever will I contain my happiness? (grumble, grumble, growl)

Apparently he didn't remove the kitty litter she loathes from the cat box or even scoop it (must be done twice a day for this fastidious kitty) so she let him know how she feels! Soaked through the comforter, sheets, mattress pad, and the pillow top on my mattress. At least I have a select comfort and I can remove the top and wash it. So I loaded the better half on the bus to SLC and I'm waiting for the next one to go to the laundromat to deal with the mattress.

As I'm getting things together to go, I thought I'd finish up my remix and get it sent in since it's the final day. Of course, my flash drive or my ancient laptop has EATEN IT! It so, so figures. So, before I catch my bus in a few minutes I just thought I'd post 'cause this day is just so annoying it's funny really.

I'll drag my iPad and keyboard with me and finish up the last bit I'm planning on writing and pray that the computer/flash drive spits up my story again when I get back so I can put them together. I love the story I'm remixing and I know my efforts won't be anywhere near as wonderful as the original one, which I adore. But, I'm still having fun. As long as the hardware cooperates. I've got enough gray hairs, I don't need more.

Have a delightful, restful Sunday, everyone!

Hugs

Isn't Snupin Santa wonderful? I've loved all of it and look forward to more! Such fun!

Which is good, since after the "Windstorm from Hell" that blew threw here (two pinetrees down and on the cars in the driveway...and the roof of the carport...but no real damage other than to the poor old fence in the backyard!) I went to the Doctor today. Oh. Joy. What fun for me!

It will suffice to say that I've got all kinds of glorious medical testing fun coming up. And Mr. Lupus seems to have given me another "present." High blood pressure. (At least I'll blame the Lupus until the tests are done and I hear otherwise...it's such a convenient scapegoat.) But hey, I actually got a laugh out of that.

I went and filled my prescription and decided I had better take one when I got home. I looked at the package, and it's been manufactured or distributed or something by "LUPIN!"

I love it! Hmmmm...I think I see a bunny in my future!

Begging For A Beta
midlagedfangirl
Thanks to getting the flu that just won't go away and more work than I want but don't dare refuse, I'm cutting my SnuSa piece closer than I wanted to. I've finished but have my own personal editing I would like to do.

Is anyone bored/brave enough to take on this newbie's work to beta at this late date? I should be able to have it to you no later than sometime Saturday. Earlier if I can and if "Mein Fuhrer" at work doesn't add more work to my schedule.

Thanks! This was so much fun, I just don't want to disappoint my recipient!

I am totally tired of this flu. Yes, I am improving, but I still don't feel "good." And now my youngest daughter has it. Oh, joy and rapture! It's starting the rounds in the house.

Getting a lot done in my SnuSa fic, almost at the end, in fact. Then I can start editing to make sure it's somewhat fit for human viewing before I beg for a beta. Ah well, at least when I didn't feel like sleeping I didn't have to turn on the TV much, I've had plenty to occupy my mind.

And so it's back to bed for me!

I went to work feeling rotten yesterday and it only got worse. I ended up coming home two hours early. Chills, 101.7 fever, aching all over, sneezing, sore throat, and runny, congested nose. All in all...the flu. I was going to take some echinacia but with my wonky immune system it probably wouldn't be in my best interest. (Did some research, and it said that people with Lupus shouldn't take it. All I need is for the flu to go away faster and the darn Lupus to get nasty. Not a good trade off!)

I had to go to work to get my check and everyone assured me that I look like "hell." That's good to know since I feel like that! LOL! then I went and got a bunch of otc flu/cold stuff. If I'm not any better by tomorrow I'll call the doc. I don't want this to get out of control. And considering that I noticed a changed in the mucus (and I cannot tell you how much I despise mucus and try not to notice it at all if possible!) that's a very distinct possibility.

I unearthed my ancient laptop (the "good" one is in the shop) out of the spare room closet and found out much to my delight that it not only runs but would open my SnuSa document so that I could work on it! Yay! I don't really feel good enough to sit at the computer and work, but I want to get this done and do a good job too. It's more fun to be working on it and playing with "the boys" than feeling sick and sorry for myself and dwelling on what all I needed to be doing and don't feel up to.

Now the biggest challenge is to keep this story from turning into "War & Peace." It really has a life of it's own now. I'm not trying to reign it in really hard yet. While I feel crappy, I'm just going to get the words down and then edit it within an inch of it's life before I start begging for beta's who are brave and not faint of heart!

Gee, I wonder if I "Dragon" comes in a Macintosh version. Imagine, being able to write a story by talking! How "Star Trek" is that?

What an extremely weird day this was! Not bad, just WEIRD! After yesterdays vile day, this was a blessing. I went into work and ended up going home. Someone had taken the credit card accidentally so our new asst. manager couldn't buy product for us to demo. She was so upset, and I felt bad for her. I hope we find out it was accidental.

No matter what, I get to work tomorrow. So, I think I'll work a little bit on my SnuSa, and then go to bed quite early. I've been very tired, and want to avoid any possible repercussions.

Also, I know my mind is telling me something. I was watching some show on Ancient Egypt, and whenever they started talking about the "shaft" of the tombs, my mind was going "Snupin."

Hugs to All!

I take it as a complement that my new supervisor has decided that I am "reliable" and one of the people that he calls when he gets "add on" work. Unfortunately that's translating into more work than is good for me. When I went to work today I was scheduled for today and Sunday. I'm now scheduled straight through Sunday, with the "heads up" that Monday and Tuesday are looking promising too.

My lupus is letting me know that this cannot go on indefinitely. Pity, I could use the money! I'm trying to hang on so that I can have some funds for Christmas. We shall see.

I am very grateful to have the work. As long as I don't get ill and have enough time to finish my "Snupin Santa" I'll be fine!

She's Back!!
midlagedfangirl
I'm so happy, last night when we were just about ready to give up hope of seeing our baby again, she came home! She seems none the worse for wear from her little 48 hour walkabout for which I am eternally grateful!

Now I can well and truly get caught up on what I got behind on during my nine day work-a-thon. I feel like I've physically been ran over by two dogs (a Mack and a Greyhound, to be exact) but I'm not totally worried.

Time to start work outlining for Snupin Santa...and to work on Pt 2 of my other story.

Hugs to All!
